Poem: Weep Men!

Weep Men!
Lost skills and lost traditions —
aimless men we are.
For our roots were torn,
cut from the trunk of our ancestors.
We know not the men before us —
grandfathers who fled,
great-grandfathers who abdicated.
I mourn the traditions lost.
I weep over the skills not taught.
How can we learn if we have no teacher?
How can we receive that which is only given?
Lost skills and lost traditions —
aimless men we are.
We must start anew.
