Poem Book 2: Maker of Men

Poem: Maker of Men

POEM: MAKER Of MEN

Send them all to me

Your wild ones,
Your troublemakers,
Your problem child!

Send them to me if you dare.

Mothers, pray that my discipline
be graceful and swift,
but do not pray for it not to come.

Fathers, give up on your pride!

Your lessons have faded to ash
Send your tragic children to me.
Send your rebellious sons
who have not bent a knee
to any authority.

I am the great AUTHORITY!

The Eternal Father,
and Ever-present Teacher
No chosen son of mine, Has ever escaped my staff!

So send the Rebels, the Fools
the terrible Youth,
send the problem child.

For I am the destroyer of immaturity,
the Maker of men.
